Siberia powderskiing – best season ever.

The Scenery

Siberian powder season began in Sheregesh ski resort, where we've spent several days skiing, touring and admiring the views. We had a good powder skiing, and a classic Siberian scenery, with breathtaking views on Gornaya Shoriya mountains and amazing sunsets. It was a good warm up before skitouring in Luzhba, where we arrived on 22th of November.

The Powder Time

Even for Siberia, where you are nearly 100% sure in deep powder skiing, it was above the expectations. Snow fell every single day, non-stop. One day we got 90 cm overnight and another 50 cm during the day, with the temperature around minus 10. It was the deepest and lightest powder we ever skied, jokes about skiing with snorkel came true.

But why talking about it so much, just take a look on pictures below.

The Calmness

After the crazy week of non-stop powder skiing we took a deep breath and kept calm. Snow was still falling, skiing and scenery was good as usual and also silence. Still, there were just our groups in the area, and we enjoyed the great Siberian nature and silence.

Skiing all the day long, Hot Russian Banya tonight, pelmeni master-class and chatting with new friends, what can be better? The weeks were passing as one moment, and groups changed one another.

The Fun

After another few weeks we can just say - it was fun! Lot's of nice people all over the world, blue sky (with some snowfalls of course), cold smoke powder and joyful evenings in our cosy Luzhba Skitouring Lodge.

Five weeks in Siberia flew as one perfect moment, and the only thing in the past season we could wish - more powder weeks! Next season we will start on November 18th, and the lodge will be run until mid-January. Booking is open and some weeks are already full, hurry up!
